The "four-in-one" ecological greenhouse model is a sustainable agricultural system that combines natural and artificial regulation techniques. It integrates bio-conversion technology, biogas production, livestock farming, greenhouses, and vegetable cultivation in a coordinated manner on the same piece of farmland. This innovative model utilizes land resources efficiently, with solar energy as the main driving force, straw and animal dung as raw materials, and biogas acting as a central link between energy and agriculture. By combining planting and breeding, it creates a closed-loop ecological system that supports more biological diversity, a balanced food chain, and faster energy circulation. This model has become an essential technical approach for promoting rural economic development, improving the ecological environment, and enhancing people's quality of life.
The model is composed of several key components and technologies. A greenhouse of 200–600 square meters is constructed, along with a 20-square-meter livestock shelter within the greenhouse. A biogas digester with a capacity of 6–10 cubic meters is built inside the livestock area. Animal waste is fed into the digester for anaerobic fermentation, producing biogas that can be used for lighting and cooking. Additionally, burning biogas in the greenhouse helps raise the temperature and provides carbon dioxide, which acts as a natural fertilizer for plants. The byproducts of the biogas process—biogas slurry and residue—are also valuable. The slurry can replace chemical fertilizers for topdressing and foliar spraying, while also helping control pests and diseases. The residue serves as a base fertilizer, and the slurry can even be used as a feed additive for pigs.
The core technologies involved include the construction and management of biogas digesters, the use of biogas slurry as a pig feed additive, and the comprehensive application of biogas residue and slurry as alternatives to chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Another important aspect is the prevention and control of gas hazards, as well as the scientific management of the livestock area and vegetable cultivation zones to ensure a healthy and sustainable cycle. This integrated approach not only enhances productivity but also promotes environmental sustainability and resource efficiency.
