Fish growth season typically runs from June to September each year. During this time, water temperatures are ideal, food sources are plentiful, and fish are more active and feed well, making it the prime period for their development. However, it's important to be aware that high temperatures can also increase the risk of fish diseases.
First, focus on proper feeding practices.
1. Feed according to weather conditions, water quality, and the fish’s feeding behavior. On good weather days with clear water, you can feed more; on bad days, reduce or skip feeding. Make sure that concentrated feed is completely consumed within 30 minutes, while green feed should be fully eaten on the same day.
2. Feeding times: Feed once in the morning between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., and again in the afternoon between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
3. Ensure the feed is of high quality. Use complete compound feeds from reputable manufacturers. Green fodder and fresh shellfish should be suitable for the fish, non-toxic, and safe.
4. Choose fixed feeding areas to maintain consistency and improve efficiency.
Second, apply fertilization wisely.
From July to September, chemical fertilizers should be the main source. Apply them every 5–7 days. For example, use 1 kg of urea or 1.5 kg of ammonium sulfate per application. When applying fertilizer, avoid overuse. Maintain water clarity at around 25 cm, ideally with a tea-brown color, which indicates a healthy aquatic environment.
Third, manage water quality effectively.
1. Regularly add new water. Add 15–20 cm of fresh water every 7–10 days. If the water quality deteriorates, perform a partial water change.
2. Use an aerator during midday (2–3 p.m.) to increase oxygen levels.
3. Apply lime periodically—about 15–20 kg per mu every 15 days—to help maintain water balance and prevent disease.
Fourth, prevent fish from floating head (surface gasping).
1. Be proactive by checking the ponds three times daily—early morning, noon, and evening. Look for signs of floating head and ensure there’s enough food available.
2. Remove weeds and keep the pond clean.
3. Regularly add fresh water to improve overall water quality.
4. If floating head occurs, act immediately by increasing aeration. Delaying action can lead to significant losses.
Fifth, implement comprehensive disease prevention.
June to September is not only the best growth period for fish but also the most vulnerable to diseases. Once infected, diseases can spread rapidly, causing heavy losses. Therefore, maintaining strict preventive measures is essential.
1. Disinfect the pond before stocking. Use 125–150 kg of disinfectant per 1–25 meters of water depth.
2. Soak fingerlings in a 2%–3% salt solution before introducing them into the pond.
3. Regularly disinfect the water using quicklime—apply 10–20 kg per mu for a 1-meter water depth.
If any signs of disease appear, consult a professional technician promptly for accurate diagnosis and treatment. Avoid self-medicating or delaying action, as this can worsen the situation and lead to serious consequences.
Spinal Fixation
Spinal fixation system consists of posterior spinal fixation system, minimally invasive spinal system, posterior cervical fixation system, anterior cervical plate system, laminar shapping plate system and interbody fusion cage system.
Cervical and lumbar segmental implants are the most common types of spinal internal fixation, which can be roughly divided into anterior and posterior internal fixation according to their fixed positions and surgical approaches.
The anterior cervical vertebra is mostly fixed with locking plates and fixed screws, what are mostly made of titanium alloy materials; The posterior approach was fixed using the pedicle screw and rod system.
In some cases of spinal vertebrae bone defect, it is also necessary to implant titanium cage or PEEK cages to promote bone fusion of adjacent vertebrae. The titanium mesh cage refers to a cage shaped container made of titanium alloy material, which is loaded with autologous or allogeneic bone and placed in the spinal vertebrae bone defect, which not only serves as a strength support but also plays a role in bone fusion.
