First, to promote healthy fur growth, apply a mixture of wine, ginger, and a small amount of liquor to the rabbit's body every three days. Use about one tablespoon of liquor combined with a little grated ginger, mix well, and gently massage the fur, being careful not to get the mixture near the rabbit's eyes. This helps make the fur dense and even, and it also helps prepare the rabbit for shearing five days in advance.
Second, feeding leeks and soybeans before and after meals can significantly improve fur quality and color. This practice encourages more back hair growth, making the coat smoother and more lustrous. The interval between hair trimming should be at least two weeks. Feed the rabbit leeks once daily, about 5–6 grams each time, and soaked soybeans in 7 capsules per feeding. If you add fish broth or leftover food, the results will be even better.
Third, raw eggs are beneficial for hair growth due to their high content of sulfur-containing amino acids like cystine, which is essential for strong and healthy fur. Feed one raw egg per 5–10 rabbits daily, along with some spices to enhance absorption.
Fourth, adding 25 mg of cystine to the diet of rabbits can increase wool production by over 20%. It also improves the length, elasticity, and shine of the fur, while reducing the percentage of low-quality hair to as low as 5%. On average, this method can boost fur yield by about 50%.
Fifth, cod liver oil is an excellent supplement. It contains 1,500 IU of vitamin A and 150 IU of vitamin D. Feed 0.6 to 1.2 ml of cod liver oil daily to support healthy fur development and overall skin condition.
Sixth, to enhance fur growth through trace elements, use the following formula: 0.4g of copper sulfate, 0.3g of zinc sulfate, and 0.7g of cobalt chloride per 100g, with the rest being eggshell powder. Mix 1% of this blend into the rabbit’s feed. This has been shown to increase fur production by 15% and fur length by 13%, making it a highly effective nutritional strategy.
