How to change the soil for cherry blossom

If cherry blossoms are not prosperous and there are signs of poor growth, then the roots must have varying degrees of necrosis. In order to restore cherry tree vigor, we must carry out soil rejuvenation work on cherry trees. Wuhan Donghu Sakura Garden borrowed Japanese Sakura soil rejuvenation experience. In recent years, the cherry trees with poor growth were replanted and rejuvenated in batches, and good results were achieved.
The specific operation of the cherry blossom soil rejuvenation work is as follows:

First, the operating time

In the natural dormancy period of cherry blossoms, it follows the principle of “moving soil roots and letting trees know”. In order to restore the roots of the cherries as soon as possible, it is better to change the soil and rejuvenate the soil as early as possible.

Second, the steps

1. Take out the roots: On the outside of the crown of the poorly growing cherry tree, dig a spade with a spade or a hoe, and use a fine-toothed hoe to carefully open the roots of the cherry trees that are growing poorly. Observe the growth of the roots. Situation, pay attention to protect the growth of a strong root system, the root thickness of the operation to try to control the diameter of 0.5 cm in the range. For better growth, only necrotic roots need to be removed without lifting all the roots. If the growth is not good, the roots should be completely lifted due to excessive root necrosis.

2. Root treatment: After removing the roots, remove the necrotic roots. In order to avoid clipping infections, apply ink to the cuts. Then, sprinkle fungicide (such as mycozoenin) and rooting powder (such as fast root) on the root, and use thiophanate-methyl, carbendazim, etc. as the bactericide. The rooting powder can be watered according to the ratio of the product description and sprayed to the root. . Necrotic roots cut off should be burned.

3. Roots back to earth: The roots in the roots are like the trees, and the cherry trees after the roots are replanted. The old soil must be transported and replaced with prepared sterile new soil. New soil commonly used humus, garden soil, coarse sand prepared by the ratio of 2:4:1. During the preparation, some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers may be added in appropriate amounts, and a suitable amount of fungicides may be mixed when used. The formulated nutrient soil should be tested for pH, with a pH of 5.5 to 6.5 being the best. Cherry blossoms are particularly afraid of standing water. If the water level in the original planting area is high, new plantings can be selected.

4. Set up brackets: For the convenience of handling the roots, the roots of the cherry trees should be set up for handling; after the roots are backed up, brackets should be set up to avoid tree lodging.

5. Management after soil rejuvenation: Sakura should be strengthened after changing soil and rejuvenating. Some trees have completely lifted the roots. Actually it is equivalent to a new plant, so drought should be avoided to cause death. After spring flowers, the pruned roots of the rejuvenated cherry trees should be trimmed properly. In general, the rejuvenated trees have fewer buds in the spring of the second year than the trees in the control, and the leaves are smaller, but they can return to normal in the third year of spring. After the change of soil, the trees that are not very good are restored. In the beginning of summer, care should be taken to take care of the shade.
