Spark plug use maintenance misunderstanding

If there is slight negligence or inappropriateness in its selection, use, and maintenance, it will affect the normal functioning of its functions and cause more failures. 1. The spark plug is not selected according to the length of the insulator. The spark plug is divided into three types: thermal type, Chinese type, and cold type. Screwed into the combustion chamber (under the copper gasket). The insulator is the hot type, the shorter one is the Chinese type, and the shortest one is. Cold. If the model is a cold type spark plug, if a hot spark plug is mistakenly used, a long heat dissipation stroke and overheating of the spark plug will cause premature ignition, resulting in carburetor cracking, tempering or engine failure. After turning off the engine will continue to stop turning. Therefore, spark plugs should be properly selected according to the performance of the engine and the conditions of use. 2. Install the spark plug too tight or too loose. The spark plug is too tight to install. It is easy to pull the wire. If it is loosely installed, it may cause leakage during work. The correct method of installation is to use a torque wrench when tightening the spark plug. The spark plug torque of M141.25 thread is as follows: cast iron cylinder head is 24.5~34.3Nm; aluminum cylinder head is 24.5~29.4Nm. If there is no torque wrench, the spark plug can be tightened by hand first, and then the socket wrench can be used to twist 3/4 turns. 3. Burning a spark plug with an open flame Some drivers use a burning method to remove carbon deposits and oil stains on the electrodes and skirts of spark plugs. This is very harmful, because it is difficult to control the temperature during the fire, which can cause sudden changes in the local temperature of the spark plug. Damage, such as the insulator burning and leakage in use, small cracks generated by the fire is not easy to find, to bring trouble to troubleshoot. 4. The carbon deposits produced by electrodes and skirt insulators will not be removed in long-term use. If they are not removed for a long time, they will accumulate and accumulate, eventually leading to electrode leakage and even flashover. The instructions for use regularly remove coke. 5. Over-standard long-term use The currently used spark plugs are of many models, but they all have their own most economical life span. If they are used beyond their economic life, they will not be conducive to the effective use of the engine's power and economy. 6. Cleaning method is not particular about some of the operators in the clean appearance of the spark plug, in order to figure fast, convenient map, with sandpaper or metal sheet descaling, this will make the insulator skirt leave metal traces, causing leakage. The correct method of descaling is: The spark plug should be immersed in gasoline, soaked and cleaned with a brush to ensure that the ceramic body of the spark plug is not damaged. 7. Spark plugs used for a period of time without checking the spark gap for a long period of time will increase the spark gap due to electrode erosion, which will affect the continued use of the spark plug. For this reason, four-stroke gasoline engines generally use 100 to 200 hours; two-stroke gasoline engines use about 30 to 50 hours, and they must be disassembled and cleaned and checked to adjust a jumpover gap. General normal spark plug gap is 0.6 ~ 0.8mm, when adjusting, check the fire jump gap with a plug gauge, such as the gap is too large or too small, can only pull the side electrode to adjust, but the angle of the pull side electrode should not be too large, In order to avoid cracking the weld. 8. Misdiagnosis of spark plug misdiagnosis Misdiagnosis of spark plug misdiagnosis will not only bring difficulty to troubleshooting, but also cause waste. The criteria for the normal state of the spark plugs are: the inner and outer porcelain insulators are clean and crack-free; the insulating ceramics in the electrodes and electrodes are light brown or gray-black; the electrodes are not ablated or only slightly corroded; the electrodes have no carbon deposition or a small amount of pure carbon deposits. Such as the spark plug head ablation, should be based on the degree of spark plug ablation, can be divided into the following situations: (1) the electrode inside the insulation part is white, and full of blemishes spots. Explain that the engine has a phenomenon of premature combustion, excessive mixture of gas, improper selection of spark plugs, or overheating of spark plugs. (2) Severe ablation of the head of the spark plug and cracking of the shell porcelain. Inadequate sealing of the spark plug seal or failure of the spark plug causes leakage at the spark plug and engine deflagration. (3) Severe ablation of the side electrode and center electrode of the spark plug. It shows that the engine works under long-term ignition conditions. 9. Improper maintenance of the engine (1) Long-term overloading of the engine will result in incomplete combustion and severe carbon deposition on the spark plug. (2) There is no regular check of the spark advance angle of the gasoline engine. This can cause serious carbon deposits in the spark plug. (3) Some parts of the engine were not maintained in time, causing the oil to enter the combustion chamber and cause carbon deposition. There are three ways for the oil to enter the combustion chamber: 1. The oil enters the combustion chamber from between the piston ring and the cylinder wall. Usually due to cylinder wear, oil ring failure, piston counterparts, the oil pan oil level is too high. 2 The oil penetrates into the combustion chamber from the gap between the valve guide and the valve stem. When this clearance increases, the oil that is pumped in increases. 3 The oil is sucked into the cylinder through the carburetor from the oil bath air filter.
