How to reduce the open rate of chestnut

The so-called chestnut empty pods are flowers that appear to be impractical due to poor fertilization or fertility after pollination and insemination. Chestnuts are generally up to 30% open, and severely up to 90%. The dominant factor that causes chestnut is the lack of boron. According to the survey, when the available boron content in the soil is below 0.08 ppm (parts per million), the emptying rate can reach 100%. When the soil effective boron content is 0.332-0.472ppm, the amount of boron is empty. The rate was less than 10%. Observed by the test comparison, the boron concentration was 2.9% in the boron application group, 4.5% in the boron injection group, and 50% in the control group. The methods for reducing the emptying rate of chestnuts in junior high schools are as follows: (1) Application of sand: Apply the fertilizer from late March to April, loosen the soil under the canopy, and evenly spread the borax by 20 g/plant. In the loose soil, cover with soil. (2) Boron spraying method: A mixture of borax 0.2%, potassium dihydrogen phosphate 0.5%, and copper sulfate 0.1% is sprayed once at the initial flowering stage, full flowering stage and fresh flowering stage of chestnut. (3) Apply organic fertilizer to improve the soil, pruning diseased branches, overlapping branches, chicken claw branches, short cuts and long branches. Chestnut is a cross-pollination fruit tree. Mainly rely on the wind to spread pollen, but also the phenomenon of dichogamous and other phenomena, so when single planting or planting a single species, due to poor pollination fertilization, resulting in empty space. Therefore, paying attention to the allocation of pollination trees in the new chestnut plant is also an important measure to reduce the empty rate of chestnuts.
