Narcissus sculpture and water culture

Narcissus bulbs (narcissus heads) can be used to create imaginary and colorful living artworks.

Carving narcissus according to the following procedure:

1. Peel the scales. First remove the dirt and roots from the bulbs of the narcissus, then strip the tan outer skin. Then, one centimeter from the root of the curved surface of the tooth, cut a straight line from left to right with a knife, and then left at the bulb. A line was cut longitudinally on both sides, and scales were removed layer by layer in the range defined by the vertical and horizontal lines until the leaves and pedicels outside each flower bud were exposed.

2. Cutting edge, scratching pedicel. Carefully cut the edges of each leaf that enclose the calyx on both sides of the leaf from the top to the bottom, about one-third of the width of the leaf blade, and then gently scratch the pedicel skin, which is about 1 cm in length. In this way, the leaves and stalks grow in shape. The degree of blade and pedicel treatment depends on the requirements of the model.

3. Dip bulbs and care. The narcissus bulbs of the sculpture are inverted and immersed in water for two days. Wash the mucus out of the incision and cover the incision with cotton wool until it reaches the roots and descent into the water to absorb the water.

4. Maintenance management. Place the sculptured surface of the bulb into the water-drenched narcissus pot, add water to the incision below, and then place it in the cool place for three or four days. After the root grows, move it to the outdoor water culture. The initial stage of water conservation requires changing the water once a day to keep the water clean. Always spray water over foliage to maintain humidity. Aquaculture temperature must be controlled below 20 degrees Celsius, with 10 degrees to 15 degrees as well.
