Five key issues for pig feeds

Family or intensive pig rearing, using self-made feed for pigs, can greatly reduce the cost of raising the pigs and increase the economic efficiency of raising pigs. However, the following "five key" must be grasped for self-made pig feed:

First, according to feed standards formulated feed

Different feeding purposes and different stages of pig growth and development, the demand for nutrients varies from pig to pig. Therefore, pig raising should be based on different production purposes, species, age, weight, etc., choose different feeding standards to formulate compound feed.

Second, pay attention to the types and proportions of raw materials

The varieties of raw materials for pigs' compound feeds should be diversified in order to play a complementary role in nutrition between various raw materials. The proportion of commonly used raw materials for pig feed is: cereals such as corn, rice, barley, sorghum, etc., generally should be 50 to 70; bran such as wheat bran, rice bran, etc. should generally account for 10 to 20%; toxic cottonseed cake , wolfberry and rapeseed cake should be less than 10%. Animal protein feed such as fish meal, cocoon occupies 3 to 7%; grass powder is less than 5%; bone meal accounts for 20~25%, and salt is less than 0.5%. It is worth noting that breeder pigs should not use toxic cottonseed cakes, coriander seeds, and rapeseed cakes.

Third, pay attention to the characteristics of feed ingredients

Grasp the characteristics of various feed ingredients, such as palatability, the content of toxic and harmful substances in feed, etc., as well as whether the feed has any pollution or mildew. Poor palatability, raw materials containing toxins should be strictly limited to add. Seriously polluted and mildewed feed ingredients must be firmly banned to ensure feed safety.

Fourth, pay attention to the volume of raw materials

In order to ensure that the pigs can ingest the nutrients they need every day, the volume of nutrients chosen must be compatible with the volume of the digestive tract of the pig so as to ensure the healthy and rapid growth of the pig. If the choice of raw material volume must be incompatible with the digestive tract volume of the pig, in order to ensure the healthy and rapid growth of pigs, it is necessary to consider increasing the number of feedings to meet the nutrient requirements for healthy and rapid growth of pigs.

Fifth, the raw material mix should be uniform

The various ingredients in the pig compound feed should be fully mixed evenly to ensure that the pigs consume various nutrients they need. If the ingredients of the compound feed mix unevenly, it is easy to cause pig drug or trace element poisoning.
