Symptoms develop yellow-brown lesions on the stem base of the victim's plant and gradually spread to the base of the whole stem. The pathogen Rhizoctonia solani Kulhn called Rhizoctonia solani, a fungus belonging to the genus Deuteromycotina. There is a sexual state for Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank) Donk called melon-degrading bacteria and belongs to Basidiomycotina fungus. The bacterium does not produce spores, and it spreads and reproduces mainly by mycelia. The primary mycelium was colorless, with yellowish-brown behind, septum, and coarse 8-12 μm, and the bases of the branches shrank. Old mycelium often presents a series of barrel-shaped cells. Sclerotia are nearly spherical or amorphous, 0.1-0.5 mm, colorless or light brown to dark brown.
Transmission route and disease conditions The bacteria can survive in the soil for 2-3 years, or it can overwinter on the sick or other crops, weeds, and become the initial infection source of this disease. The mycelium in the soil can be manipulated through farmland; tilled and irrigated water, insects spread, and reinfested. Poor plant growth or prone to long-term low-temperature and rainy weather, easy-to-morrow, for many years continuous cropping plots, low-lying, high groundwater level, heavy drainage disease.
Prevention methods (1) Two or three years or more of rotation should be adopted, and serious diseases that cannot be used for rotation should be ploughed and improved to reduce the occurrence of the disease. (2) Appropriate planting density, attention should be paid to ventilation and light transmission, and low-lying land should be cultivated with high sorghum. Drain the water immediately after the rain, and clear the garden timely after harvest. (3) In the initial stage of disease, 300% of methyllithium (Kingstar) 300% solution or 20% methylstarter EC 1200 times and 36% of Thiophanate Suspension 600 times were sprayed. In addition, irrigation with 200-375mg/kg of 30% times of the EC has a certain control effect. Transplanting blends can also be applied.
