Researchers at Xi'an Jiaotong University used a natural product chitosan with good biocompatibility and hemostatic properties as raw materials to simultaneously modify double bonds and quaternary ammonium salt groups in their main chain by one-pot reaction. The quaternary ammonium salt modification can not only improve the water solubility of chitosan but also enhance its antibacterial effect. The polymer solution was subjected to radical polymerization in a frozen state to prepare a crystal gel having a porous structure. Carbon nanotubes have also been introduced, which can improve the mechanical properties of the gelatin, impart good conductivity to the gelatin, and excellent near-infrared trigger response (eg, sustained release of analgesic drugs, photothermal sterilization, etc.). Studies have shown that the hemostatic material absorbs blood quickly when it comes into contact with blood. It can concentrate blood and accelerate the blood clotting process.
