China introduced the latest version of the "Guide to Chronic Hepatitis B Prevention"

The 2010 edition of the "Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Hepatitis B" was released in Beijing on the 10th. Its updated part has absorbed the latest results of the hepatitis B research at home and abroad in the past five years.

According to Jia Jidong, director of the Chinese Medical Association's Liver Disease Branch, in 2005 China introduced the first "Guidelines for the prevention and treatment of chronic hepatitis B," establishing the basic status of antiviral treatment. Over the past five years, anti-viral therapy has been widely recognized in the clinical treatment of chronic hepatitis B, which has improved the overall level of hepatitis B prevention in China.

However, in the past five years, great progress has been made in basic and clinical research on chronic hepatitis B at home and abroad, new therapeutic concepts have been approved, new therapeutic drugs have been approved, and new epidemiological data have been published. The new guideline supplements the hepatitis B epidemiological data independently researched by our country. At present, the hepatitis B virus carrying rate in the general population from 1 to 59 years old in China is 7.18%. As for the therapeutic part, the new guidelines continue to emphasize the role of antiviral therapy as long as there are indications and If conditions permit, it should be standardized antiviral treatment; supplemented by China's new antiviral drug telbivudine that has been approved for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B.
