Boer goat breeding techniques

In recent years, the Boer goats have become a highlight of the breeding industry. Many farmers have not hesitated to pay for the Boer goats. In fact, this practice is not scientific enough and cost-effective. It is also a little careless. It may also be deceived and cannot buy purebred sheep. Here, the author tells you a cost-effective method. You can purchase only 1 to 3 purebred goat rams and use this goat to mate with native female goats. After the pregnancy, you can produce the next generation of boer goats. The male lambs of the Boer goats can only be raised as sheep. Castration is not allowed to be reserved for sheep. Once the female lambs of a generation of Boer goats grow up, they mate with purebred rams to produce second-generation Boer goats. Note: When a generation of Boer goat ewes estrus, do not mate with their father sheep to avoid inbreeding. The second generation of Boer goat rams still cannot be used as seed goats. The second generation female lambs grow up and then mate with other purebred goats to produce three generations of Boer goats. By the third generation, rams and ewes can be said to be purebred sheep, but they are still inferior to the fourth generation. In general, with this method of breeding Boer goats, two to three years will be able to breed a large number of purebred Boer goats, more than direct purchase of Boer goats, more cost-effective. Some people estimate that a purebred ram can breed at least 500 ewes within a year. If frozen semen is used for insemination, a ram can be allocated more than 10,000 ewes. Breeding goats with this method must also have an important condition, that is, the ewes used for mating must be large in size. The general small-sized “land goat” is not acceptable, and the small-sized sheep are born with purebred sheep. It is very likely to cause childbirth, and the ewe and sheep are at risk. Only general ewes can mate with purebred sheep. There is a sire named Saanen Goat, which is larger in size and lower in price and suitable for breeding with purebred Boer goats. Of course, the breeding of Boer goats does not necessarily mean that they cannot use Saanen goats, but they must use large-sized animals. This must be remembered.
