China General Administration of Customs announces July sugar imports

According to information from Beijing on August 23, the data released by the General Administration of Customs of China today showed that China imported 305,781 tons of sugar in July, an increase of 130% compared with the same period of last year and an increase of 64% from the previous month (in June), including imports. The top three are Brazil, Cuba, and South Korea, with 222,296 tons imported from Brazil, 61,300 tons imported from Cuba, and 15,311 tons from South Korea.

However, from January to July this year, China imported 714,347 tons of sugar, a 17.3% drop from the same period last year.

On the export side: According to the General Administration of Customs on August 10, China exported 4,925 tons of sugar in July 2010, an increase of 20.91% from the 4,073 tons in June. From January to July 2010, China's sugar exports totaled 62,084 tons, an increase of 60.6% from 38,648 tons in the same period of 2009.
